Who can file a lien on your home
In Tennessee, when you live in the home (1 to 4 units), only the contractor you hired can file a lien. Suppliers and subs can't, so there's nothing to collect from them (Tenn. Code § 66-11-146).
So the releases that matter come from Harpeth Ridge Builders, before and after every payment, and a sworn affidavit at the end that everyone has been paid.
